Jimmy V’s Osteria + Bar is a unique and modern restaurant created with Jim Valvano’s passion and commitment to excellence, and a percentage of the restaurant’s revenue will be donated to the V Foundation. Jim Valvano’s love for food is the influence behind our menu creation featuring local and seasonal dishes with an emphasis on delicious Italian/American down to earth and traditional comfort foods using local farm grown ingredients and straightforward preparations.

Chef Jeffrey Russell joins the team at Jimmy V’s Osteria + Bar with 27 years of culinary experience with resorts and restaurants.  Chef Russell joined Jimmy V’s most recently from Sanderling Resort in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Prior, he was Executive Chef for the Equinox Resort and Spa in Manchester, Vermont; Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah; Desert Sage Restaurant in La Quinta, California; and Ventana Room at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona.  His cuisine is rooted in Sustainable, Organic, Artisinal and Local ingredients – or what we at the Sanderling have adapted as S.O.A.L. Chef Russell received his culinary education from the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

A comfortable glass enclosed private dining area, The Jimmy V Den, is available for all life’s celebrations including group gatherings, private events, and reservations to bring your friends and family together. Our wood stone fire deck pizza oven is surrounded by a marble chef’s counter which allows guests to watch the team of skilled pizzaiolos create world-class pies in a vibrant upbeat setting. Patrons can also enjoy and watch all their favorite local sports teams as well as National Sporting Events.

Jimmy V’s creators have placed a strong emphasis on developing a comprehensive assortment of beverages from handmade culinary cocktails to craft beers including local favorites such as Red Oak, Aviator & Big Boss. Also our creators designed an extensive and inspiring wine list to highlight the “by the bottle” and “by the glass” program.

Jimmy V’s Osteria + Bar is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has the largest open air patio and outside seating area in Raleigh, perfect for sipping crafted cocktails and relaxing in a space that evokes a sense of style and ease.
